New Financial Post at SPS Group Services Hull
In a clear sign of growth, the Hull-based SPS Group has head hunted a new accountant to join its financial team.
James Smedley, 31, has joined the SPS Group in Neptune Street, Hull, taking on a new role as Financial Controller, working alongside Financial Director Tony Ford, leading up to taking over as Group Accountant.
James qualified as a chartered accountant under the in-house training scheme at Dutton Moore Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers in Silver Street, Hull. During his time at Dutton Moore James carried out the audits for the SPS Group.
James said: “I have known the directors and staff at SPS for nine years through carrying out their financial audits for Dutton Moore. So I already knew about how progressive and forward thinking the business was and I was delighted when I was offered this position.”
James role includes getting involved in every part of the business and looking at more efficient ways of operating. He is tasked with helping to move the Group forward and is particularly involved in the technical division which is a rapidly growing area of the business.
John Beharrell, Group Services Director added: “We are delighted to welcome James to the team. We have all known him for several years through our accountants, so we know he will be a great asset to our team.”
